The Tilly Jane A-Frame is a short 3 mile hike from the Cooper Spur Sno-Park. Make sure to bring sno-shoes or cramp-ons for the icy trail, and also a sno-park permit for your vehicle. The weather wasn't too cold, and the A-frame was a great destination. This adventure took 3 days (1 for gathering equipment, 1 to get to the A-frame from Corvallis, and 1 to get back home).
My recent adventure was to a hot spring 1 hour East of Eugene. The road near Cougar Reservoir was littered with ice and rocks that fell onto the road. One ice chunk fell so recently that I saw it skid across the road in front of the car. The view was amazing from the parking area for the hot springs.
There was a $6 fee per person to get into the hot springs, and I didn't take pictures of it. Clothes were optional, so decency says cameras are not optional. Google it to see pictures of the cascading pools. It was a great adventure!
